Shake up at Seddon sees family firm split three ways

STOKE-on-Trent building and construction firm Seddon has split into three separate and independent trading companies, it is understood.
Reports in the construction press suggest three different members of the family firm will each own of the companies.
It is understood Christopher Seddon’s family take control of Seddon Construction and Seddon Homes.
Seddon Property Services, which will rebrand to Novus Property Solutions, and Seddon Estates is now owned and led by John Seddon’s family.
Seddon Engineering Holdings will be owned and led by John’s brother George Seddon’s family.
The £300m turnover Seddon Group – a major sponsor of Stoke City – says that it does not expect there to be any redundancies as a result of the shake up.
Three weeks ago Seddon Construction announced it is launching a campaign to recruit new apprentices in the Birmingham area.
The business, which has a Birmingham operation based in Summer Lane, will give trainees the opportunity to gain NVQ qualifications in carpentry and joinery, bricklaying, plumbing, maintenance operations, general construction operations, painting and decorating and technical trades.
