25 redundancies as Birmingham firm Electrabrands enters administration

LONG-established Birmingham electrical wholesaler Electrabrands has gone into administration with the loss of 25 jobs.
Graham Bushby and Guy Mander of Baker Tilly Restructuring and Recovery have been appointed administrators to the firm.
Established more than 30 years ago, the company managed a number of regional and national supplier agreements with some major contractors as well as supplying over the counter from its operations in Birmingham and Tamworth.
The company has recently incurred losses which were exacerbated by a large bad debt. This led to cash flow issues and despite endeavours to rescue the company, the director had no alternative but to appoint administrators.
Mander said: “Electrabrands is well known in the region and has an established reputation for quality and good service. We are currently talking to a number of interested parties with a view to achieving a sale of the business and/or assets.
“We are unable to continue to trade in administration and regrettably we have had to make 25 employees redundant.
“Our team has been assisting all of the affected employees to ensure that their claims can be processed as quickly and efficiently as possible.”
