Jewellery packaging supplier Talbots sees strong growth

BIRMINGHAM-based jewellery packaging supplier Talbots Group has seen a 5.4% growth in sales with a successful focus on supplying leading retailers and attending key trade events.
The firm said 2013 had seen the most significant year on year growth in its history and this applied across both bespoke and stock bags, boxes and pouches.
Julie Fowler-Drake, managing director at Talbots Group said: “Talbots Group has continued to go from strength to strength over the last few years. We’re delighted with the success of 2013 and are firmly focused on building on this for 2014.”
To boost its position in the market and to demonstrate its latest contemporary designs, the group showcased its product range for spring/summer 2014 at the NEC’s Spring Fair.
The company, which was part of the ‘Watch and Jewellery Show’, said it had enjoyed a positive response to the new season collections.
“We showcased our most recent collection at the Spring Fair, which included a number of eye-catching designs which are heavily influenced by current fashion and design trends. We’re passionate about design at Talbots Group and this really comes across through our spring/summer product range,” said Ms Fowler-Drake.
The range takes inspiration from key trends including layering, embellishment, metallic colours and mixed textures.
Talbots Group currently supplies more than 1,000 clients with jewellery, gift and retail packaging, including leading retailers Argos, Signet, Bid Up TV, Shop Direct and NowSeen.
The group, based in Princip Street, was founded by Fredrick Fowler in 1941 and passed to his son, Graham Fowler, in 1962. It merged with packaging supplier Pickering and Mayell over 20 years ago, which in turn had been founded by Fredrick Charles Pickering in 1913. Keeping the company within the family, Graham’s daughter, Julie Fowler-Drake, took over the company in 2010.
