CPBigwood brought in to sell council-owned Birmingham office building

AN office building in Birmingham city centre, owned by the city council, is set to go on the market through agents CPBigwood.

Birmingham City Council has instructed the firm to handle the disposal of 150-152 Great Charles Street.

It is to be offered long leasehold with a preliminary guide price of £950,000 and it will be a lot in one of the firm’s forthcoming auctions.

CPBigwood senior partner Rory Daly said: “This is a landmark building and it is bound to produce strong interest.

“It is going to be one of the most significant disposals in Birmingham this year and it is bound to attract the attention of some of the big property companies.”

It currently houses the Birmingham Chest Clinic and the Sexual Health Clinic and the city council formerly had offices in part of the 19,251 sq ft complex.

150-152 Great Charles Street is being promoted by CPBigwood as “a prime long leasehold city centre building of great character, offering potential for redevelopment/conversion, subject to the appropriate planning permission”.

It is being offered as part vacant part investment and there are 17 car parking spaces to the rear.
