Record number of West Midlands firms attend Export Week

NEARLY 1,000 businesses attended international trade events across the West Midlands last week.

A series of 27 UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) events were held across the region as part of Export Week, with record numbers of delegates attending. At the flagship ExploreExport event alone, 289 delegates attended.

Paul Noon, UKTI regional director for the West Midlands said: “It was fantastic to see so many people come along to so many events during Export Week.

“The attendance this year was the best yet, and the feedback from businesses attending events such as ExploreExport has been excellent. I hope we’ve inspired many West Midlands firms, both large and small, to consider exporting and look forward to hearing more success stories in the months to come.

“Exporting is crucial to the continued growth of our economy. As a region we are already outstripping the rest of the country in terms of exports, but there’s still so much more we can achieve.

“The British brand of credibility and reliability is incredibly strong throughout the world and the more regional firms take advantage of these opportunities, the better.”
