Merger adds up to growth for ambitious accountacy firm

MIDLANDS accountancy group Baldwins has reinforced its position in the marketplace with a new acquisition.
The firm has joined forces with Shropshire-based chartered accountants Tranter Lowe, which has offices in Telford and Wellington.
Baldwins has 27 offices across the UK with 19 of those based in the Midlands but the latest merger will strengthen the group’s position in Shropshire and Mid Wales.
The move will see Baldwins’ Shifnal office relocate into Tranter Lowe’s Telford office, based in High Street, Dawley, which will practice as Baldwin incorporating Tranter Lowe.
Baldwins director Helen Tinsley will be teaming up with Tranter Lowe partner Philip Lowe to run the enlarged office.
Ms Tinsley said: “We have a number of offices across the Midlands, and the acquisition of Tranter Lowe will help further strengthen our presence in the area.
“Tranter Lowe has a strong client base and so merging with our Shifnal office will provide an unrivalled accounting destination for local businesses.
“The acquisition forms part of our expansion plans as we focus on not only investing in areas we are already based but also opening offices in new towns and cities.”
Mr Lowe added that joining the established group was a positive move which would benefit clients.
He said: “The move to join Baldwins represents a significant strategic move for Tranter Lowe which we’re confident will provide our clients with unparalleled access to specialist services.
“Not only does joining Baldwins provide our existing client base with the ability to engage with specialist tax and corporate finance teams, but also with a centralised administrative function, we will be able to spend more time serving those clients from our newly expanded Dawley base.”
