Hereford & Worcester start-ups offered growth advice

START-UP businesses in Herefordshire and Worcestershire are being offered support devising finance plans that banks will take seriously.

The Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce wants the new support network to provide a route to growth for firms less than two years’ old who are struggling with the next step in their development.

The service features a series of events designed to give companies practical advice and the opportunity to share issues, discuss existing and potential barriers to growth and improve their chances of success.

The first event, supported by Hayward Wright Accountants, takes place at t Worcestershire County Cricket Club, New Road, Worcester between 4-6pm on March 29.

Hayward Wright will offer help putting together realistic business plans identifying what banks are looking for when then supporting new companies, while Impetus, the Community Development Funding Institution will outline investment routes and finance options.

Nicky Griffiths, director of Business Development at the chamber, said: “Starting a business is an exciting time but in the first two years it can be particularly challenging in terms of finance, acquiring customers and developing a solid foundation from which the business can grow.

“Funding options for growth or for working capital are particularly important, but it’s not always easy for businesses to identify what’s out there, in particular the range of mixed finance options that are available.”

Further information is available from the chamber on 0845 641 1641.
