Rotala makes ‘good progress’ as revenues climb

BIRMINGHAM-based transport company Rotala has seen a growth in revenues of 10% and a small climb in operating and pre-tax profits.
In its preliminary results for the financial year ended November 30, 2010, revenues rose from £40.6m to £44.6m while profit from operations went from £3.53m to £3.58m.
Pre-tax profit increased from £1.88m in 2009 to £1.9m and net assets at the year end were up 8.5% to £19.1m, from £17.6m in 2009.
Rotala’s fleet was up to 480 vehicles, which then rose to 570 in January following the acquisition of Preston Bus.
The statement said that trading in 2011 was in line with expectations.
Chairman John Gunn said: “The group continued to make good progress in the year.
“This rise in revenue was well distributed amongst our various business streams and reflects the nature of the investment made in both 2009 and 2010.
“The increases are also wholly organic since there were no acquisitions made in the year.
“Rotala is now the number two bus operator by market share in both the West Midlands and Bristol.”
