Housebuilder gains permission for first Midlands scheme

Sherborne Wharf

Housebuilder Inland Homes has secured planning permission for its first scheme in the Midlands.

It has consent to develop 148 residential units at Sherborne Wharf, close to Brindleyplace in Birmingham. The scheme has a gross development value of £30m

Sherborne Wharf has three connected areas of land where Inland plans to build 45 one-bedroom and 103 two-bedroom apartments.

Inland specialises in brownfield regeneration and has so far focused on the south and south east.

Paul Brett, land director at Inland Homes, said: “While the main focus of our business is on the commuter belt around London as well as other popular areas in the South of England such as Southampton, the strength of our understanding and specialist expertise in the planning system means that we are able to identify opportunities outside of our normal geographical remit, acquire sites and secure planning permission in order to deliver meaningful value for our shareholders.”

Separately Inland has announced it has also received planning consent to convert and extend a grade II-listed building in St Albans into 58 residential units.
