Manufacturer secures five-year deal on new Birmingham HQ

The unit leased by Decon Co in Digbeth

A Birmingham industrial unit has been let to a hair and beauty product manufacturer on a five-year lease.

Decon Co has taken on 66 Rea Street South, a modern 25,400sq ft warehouse in Digbeth, as a national storage and distribution centre.

The deal was brokered by property agent Harris Lamb.

Tom Morley, of Harris Lamb’s Agency team, said: “This was an attractive opportunity for the business due to its close proximity to Birmingham city centre and easy access to the M6, making it an ideal storage and distribution hub.”

He said there was strong demand for the facility, which features two-storey offices and an open-plan warehouse with a mezzanine floor.

“Industrial stock of this level remains in short supply within the region and further to significant levels of interest from potential occupiers, we were able to negotiate a five-year lease at a rent of £85,000 per year,” said Mr Morley.

“Opportunities of this kind do not remain on the market very long, and the deal was completed quickly, with the business taking occupation within a couple of weeks of the first viewing.”
