Serviced office provider secures quartet of deals

Serviced offices provider UBC has completed four new deals for its flagship operation at Birmingham Business Park.

The Solihull-based company said vacancy rates at 148-acre business park were now at their lowest for a decade such has been the demand for commercial space in the area.

UBC provides 200 workstations across two floors of serviced office accommodation at BBP’s 1310 Solihull Parkway building – which is also UBC’s UK head office. The business centre, which opened in January 2016, is now the home of 24 start-up businesses.

The new arrivals at the business centre include recruitment agency, The Highfield Company and smart energy specialist, Cylon.

The recruitment agency said its decision to set up at the centre was because of the park’s good location and transport connections.

Cylon, which manufactures products for the control of comfort and energy in commercial buildings, has relocated to the park from its former base at Standsted.

Paul Burley, from the firm, said the decision was taken to secure a more central location for customers.

“We have been around for 30 years,” he said. “We carry out all of our UK training from this office, and we wanted to have an office with the right professional image for our business.”
