Luxury housebuilder Duchy Homes is set for expansion with the launch of a new division in the West Midlands.

The launch builds on the success the Leeds-based housebuilder has achieved across Yorkshire, the North East and North West and its plan is to satisfy demand for a small luxury housebuilder in the region.

The new division will be led by managing director Steve Hird, who has over 27 years’ experience in the house building industry, having previously held MD and Land Director positions at a number of firms including Cala Homes, Bovis Homes and David Wilson Homes.

The business will operate from premises in Henley in Arden and is already actively seeking land opportunities across the West Midlands and the Cotswolds.

Mr Hird said: “There is a real gap in the local market for a luxury housebuilder and many exciting opportunities in the West Midlands to build a strong offering and to grow the Duchy Homes brand.

“As managing director of the division, I am keen to continue the company’s success in this area. I am looking forward to building the business in this region and developing a first class team of people.”

He said the firm would be releasing details of its West Midlands team in due course.

Duchy Homes specialises in exclusive developments, built to a high specification and designed for the luxury market. Properties usually boast an impressive choice of internal features and incorporate high quality fixtures and fittings.

Jim Cropper, group managing director at Duchy Homes, said: “The launch of the West Midlands division is a natural step for us given the potential opportunities that are present in the region and we hope our properties prove to be very popular with buyers in the area.

“I am also delighted to welcome Steve to the business. He has a wealth of experience in housebuilding and this combined with his local knowledge means he is well placed to develop the new division.”
