Harris Lamb appointed to market 40,000 sq ft of Birmingham office space

Agents Harris Lamb has been instructed to let 40,000 sq ft of prime office space in the heart of Birmingham’s Colmore Business District.

Currently occupied by Vax, the fourth and fifth floors of 2 Colmore Square have been placed on the market following the decision by the vacuum cleaning firm to relocate to new premises in Droitwich.

The space will be let in its entirety or into small floorplates as required. The floorspace also comes with 20 secure park spaces.

2 Colmore Square, which is also occupied by Handelsbanken and Shoosmiths, is expected to attract significant interest because of the current high demand for office space in the city centre.

Charles D’Auncey, director of Harris Lamb’s Agency department, said: “Vax is now relocating to Droitwich, further to the completion of its purpose-built headquarters, and as result we’ve been asked to market both floors.

“Grade A office space across the region is in short supply at present, and these are the largest single floor plates currently available on the Birmingham office market.

“That, combined with the building’s high profile address within the Colmore Business District, makes this a very desirable opportunity.

“City centre locations of this calibre do not come onto the market very often.  The building benefits from excellent connectivity via the rail and tram network and given the regeneration of the CBD as a whole, I’ve no doubt that there will be high levels of interest from businesses keen to secure it.”

The Colmore Business District area is Birmingham’s premier concentration of professional and business service companies. Around 500 companies are located in the district, employing up to 35,000 people and encompassing approximately 5.6 million sq ft of office space.
