Midlands estate agents Newton Fallowell and Goodchilds are targeting growth after agreeing a new partnership with SDL Auctions.

The sister companies, which have more than 40 branches between them, stretching from Telford in the west to Boston in the east, will now offer their clients the chance to sell their properties at a live or online auction, while continuing to market them locally in the traditional way.

SDL Auctions is one of the largest auction networks in the UK, incorporating SDL Bigwood and SDL Graham Penny, and holds around 35 auctions across the country every year.

Mark Newton, of Newton Fallowell and Goodchilds, said: “This new partnership means we are utilising all methods of sale, reaching more potential buyers and driving the best possible price within a fixed time frame.

“As a franchise business, we are constantly looking at ways in which we can bring added value to our franchisees with market leading products, and it is hoped that this offering will help generate more income across our network.”

Traditional estate agents are having to be more proactive in finding business due to the strong growth seen by online offerings such as that pioneered by Solihull-based Purplebricks.

Louise Jefferies, business development director at SDL Auctions, said: “We’re really pleased to welcome Newton Fallowell and Goodchilds into our growing network of estate agent partners.”
