Harris Lamb to deliver new HQ for housing association

Fortis Living

Property consultancy Harris Lamb is to project manage the development of a new office for a Worcester housing association.

Having successfully won a tender to identify a site for a new office on behalf of Fortis Living, the Birmingham consultancy secured space beside the association’s existing premises and submitted proposals for the new office to Worcester City Council.

Simon Hawley, of Harris Lamb’s planning consultancy, said: “We’re extremely pleased with how smoothly this instruction has progressed. Further to winning the tender, we were able to secure a site off Midlands Road in Worcester, beside Progress House – Fortis’ existing base.

“The intention is that once the new building is complete, both offices will be used together as the organisation’s new headquarters.

“An application was approved by the council’s planning committee for a 15,000 sq ft office, along with a further 15,000 sq ft of commercial floorspace that will be put to the market to address the shortage of space across the region.”

Harris Lamb’s building team has been instructed to oversee the construction, which is expected to commence next year.

“This is a prime example of communication within the business, from site identification and acquisition right through to delivery. We look forward to seeing the project to its conclusion,” added Mr Hawley.

Fortis Living is a not-for-profit housing association, with offices in Malvern and Worcester. It provides more than 15,000 homes across Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire. With an annual  turnover of more than £75m, it is one of the largest housing providers in the West Midlands.
