A video production start-up has scored a major contract with one of the Midlands largest football clubs – just six months after the business was launched.

Acam Video, which is run by experienced cameraman John Czerepaninec and editing specialist Phil Clark, has been appointed by Wolverhampton Wanderers to supply multi-camera coverage for selected live home and away matches this season.

The firm beat off the challenge of larger rivals to secure the deal, which will also involve sending live graphics and goal replays to an independent streaming company that will then broadcast it on the recently launched WolvesTV to thousands of supporters around the world.

As part of the contract, Acam Video has invested heavily in new streaming technology and a live match replay machine.

“This is a fantastic boost for us, just six months after we decided to go on our own,” said Mr Czerepaninec.

“Wolverhampton Wanderers are a global brand and we will have been up against some massive companies, so to do enough to secure the contract is very reassuring. I think the club’s media team liked the fact we have lots of experience in sports broadcasting and that we would deliver the personal touch.”

The Wolves deal rounds off a busy first six months for the Black Country-based firm, which has already secured more than £100,000-worth of new work.

Other customers range from Jonathan Lee Recruitment and C&D Consultancy to automotive giant Tata.

The firm is also gaining a reputation for its live streaming of UBBAD bare knuckle boxing to a global audience.

Mr Clark said: “It’s not just sport that this new form of broadcasting is useful for. We are now working with a lot of corporates keen to communicate to their audience via video.

“This includes a joint venture we have forged with Moon Storm Media in Birmingham, which sees us provide a four-camera outside broadcast for Veritas Technologies.

“The show is a live streaming debate with a CIO panel (five people) discussing various topics relevant to the day.”

In addition to building a growing corporate client base, the duo are also continuing to work with mainstream broadcasters BBC, ITV, Sky Sports, as well as a host of production houses on freelance assignments.
