Safety products firm’s former HQ set to go under the hammer

Gibbons Industrial Park

The headquarters of a former welding products and safety equipment supplier in the Black Country are being disposed of by their owner.

Jackson Products wound up operations at its base at Gibbons Industrial Park, Kingswinford in 2010 after the business was sold to Kimberly-Clark Europe.

Since then the offices and adjoining warehouse, which are close to the Westfield sports car manufacturing facilities, have been empty.

The property (pictured), which occupies at 1.5-acre site at the entrance to the industrial park, comprises almost 20,000 sq ft. It is now going under the hammer at an online property auction, with a guide price of between £400,000 to £450,000+.

Richard Reed, head of property at John Pye Property, said: “This commercial space and immediate vicinity lends itself to industrial use, sitting just 15 miles west of Birmingham and in close proximity to Wolverhampton and Dudley.

“There are clear opportunities for international, national and regional companies to develop and grow.

“The Midlands is a highly sought-after location, particularly for manufacturing companies or businesses looking to push products and goods around the UK’s transport network with accessible links to the north and south of the country.”

He said investors may also look to maximise their return by splitting the site and letting individual parts.

The company said it was expecting strong interest during the two-day auction, which concludes tomorrow (Thursday).
