Coffee firm expects boost from latest expansion

Birmingham espresso and cappuccino coffee machine manufacturer, Fracino, is targeting fresh growth after completing the latest phase of its ongoing expansion.

Designed to further boost the growth of the third-generation family business, the 2,500 sq ft extension to the firm’s main administration block in Aston marks a milestone in Fracino’s multi-million pound innovation and investment programme.

Showcasing the company’s award-winning products, the contemporary showroom and visitor lounge has created a Technical Training Centre of Excellence for distributors’ service engineers with features including an espresso bar and solar panels.

The new facility was officially opened by West Midlands Mayor Andy Street, who was invited to tour the firm’s 45,000 sq ft factory, which is one of the world’s most advanced and efficient espresso equipment manufacturing facilities.

Part of the ongoing expansion has seen the installation of a third production line.

The firm continues to benefit from the UK’s growing infatuation with coffee and its machines are supplied to customers including Subway, Patisserie Valerie, Living Ventures Restaurant Group, AMT Coffee and Pathfinder pub chains.

The manufacturer also exports to over 70 countries worldwide.

Mr Street said: “The expansion is the latest chapter in the powerful success story of Fracino, which was launched from humble beginnings 54 years ago and has achieved well deserved recognition as a global brand.

“A champion of British manufacturing and a local employer committed to training and developing its workforce, it’s tremendous to see at first hand Fracino’s cutting-edge operation and the success of its investment programme.”

Adrian Maxwell, Fracino’s managing director, said: “Innovation, investment and retaining our top team is critical to our sustained growth. We’re immensely proud of our roots and heritage and it’s been a pleasure to show Andy how we are leading the way in technological advancements, research and development and excellence in customer service.”
