ICAEW appoints a new regional director for the Midlands

Sophie Dale-Black

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW) has announced the appointment of Dr Sophie Dale-Black as the Regional Director for the Midlands, following the retirement of Nigel Hastilow, in July this year.

Dr Dale-Black is a PhD qualified scientist by background, and was educated at Loughborough University. She has had extensive experience in business, academia and the public sector, and she joins the ICAEW after a period working for Innovate UK, the government’s innovation agency. Her career at Innovate UK culminated in heading up the Chief Executive’s Office, where she focussed on communications and strategic support at CEO and Board level.

Dr Dale-Black said: “I am looking forward to promoting the ICAEW, our members and our prestigious qualification here in the Midlands, and building on the great work carried out by the Midlands team. There are exciting opportunities ahead for the region, and I am keen to build on existing, and forge nw, connections with regionally-focussed organisations, while closely supporting our members and implementing ICAEW’s strategy locally.”
