Office lettings ‘demonstrate popularity of city’s fringes’

Two office suites on the fringe of Worcester city centre have been let in deals which demonstrate that the area is becoming more sought after by occupiers, say the agents involved.

Acting on behalf of two private landlords, Mike Pritchard, commercial negotiator at GJS Dillon, let office suites of 700 sq ft and 878 sq ft respectively, at 30 Sansome Walk and 60 Barbourne Road.

The National League U19 Alliance, formerly the Football Conference Youth Alliance, has taken the first floor office space at 30 Sansome Walk on a new lease at a quoting rent of £7,500 a year.

Meanwhile Bloomsbury KG, which supplies personal and social care and support for older and disabled people, has taken the first floor at 60 Barbourne Road, on a new lease at a quoting rent of £9,000.

Pritchard said: “With office vacancy rates of only 6.5% in the city, accommodation on the fringes of Worcester city centre is increasingly sought after, as occupiers look for a convenient, accessible, value for money locations, typically in older converted buildings.  This is likely to remain the case with little new office space due to come to the market and rents continuing to rise.
