Lok’nStore development begins

West Midlands-based contractor MCS Group has started work on the construction of a new building for Lok’nStore, the fast growing self-storage company.

The development at Futura Park, Ipswich, of a 15,306 sq ft, facility, is expected to reach practical completion in summer 2019.

Lok’nStore, which was established in 1995, is expanding across the country and has launched new facilities recently at locations including Hemel Hempstead, Wellingborough and Gillingham.

This is the fifth Lok’nStore project for Warwickshire-based MCS Group, which has worked alongside the company for several years.

Alan Shadbolt, group commercial director at MCS Group, said: “We’ve got a longstanding relationship with Lok’nStore going back many years and more recently we’ve completed developments for them in Hemel Hempstead and Southampton which have been a great success.

“So we are delighted to be able to announce the start on site of another excellent storage facility, this time at Futura Park in Ipswich. It is a 29-week project with a value of £1.8m and we expect to be able to hand the new unit over to the company next summer.”
