Plans submitted for 100-room Coventry boutique hotel

How the new hotel could look

Plans for a four-star boutique hotel in Coventry city centre’s Friargate scheme have been formally submitted.

Castlebridge Hotels wants to build the 100-room hotel in the city’s Friargate Business District. It will be Coventry’s first four-star facility for half a century.

If given the green light, the hotel could create 63 jobs, according to a planning application.

The hotel would be five storeys in height and include a restaurant and bar at ground level.

A planning statement reads: “The upscaled boutique hotel will combine authentic local experiences, modern design
and intimate service with the peace of mind and consistency of staying with one of the world’s largest hotel groups, including a bar and restaurant facility.”

Developers Castlebridge also worked on Stratford-upon-Avon’s Hotel Indigo and the Hilton Garden Inn and Birmingham Airport.
