Specsavers creates jobs with move to former post office
Specsavers has created four jobs at its new branch in Alcester. Where the family-run international opticians chain has taken over the former Post Office site.
The building at 36 High Street fell vacant after the Post Office moved two years ago.
The new store acts as a sister practice to Specsavers in Stratford-upon-Avon and is run by the same directors – Paul Griffiths, Jonathan Belcher and Andrew Eaves – who have more than 70 years’ optical experience between them.
Ben Truslove, a director of the John Truslove agency, said: “We are delighted to have helped our client secure such a prestigious tenant as Specsavers, a well-established high street chain.
“It has been a challenging time for retail so it is good news for Alcester that this prominent building is back in use, creating four new jobs.
“It also shows there is still demand for retail space in this area.”
Belcher said: “We’re really excited to be here in Alcester where our aim is to offer the same level of dedicated clinical eye care and support that we offer in Stratford to the local Alcester community.”
John Truslove represented landlord Telereal Trillium, and secured Specsavers as a tenant on a ten-year term. Specsavers was represented by Tom Raban of Montagu-Evans.
