£1m refurbishment to bring forward Grade A offices

Acorn House

The £1m refurbishment of an office scheme in Worcester is set to bring forward Grade A office space and aheadquarters opportunity.

When complete in December 2019, Acorn House on Bridgewater Road, will offer around 16,000 sq ft of office space.

Andy Riach from the Birmingham offices of property agent JLL said demand has already been strong for the building, with numerous occupiers already interested in the space.

He added: “This is a unique stand-alone HQ office opportunity, ideal for modern occupiers in Worcester, with excellent connectivity, close to junction 6 of the M5.

“The £1m refurbishment will not only provide a high-quality working environment but will lead to greater efficiencies with LED lighting throughout and an innovative new VRF heat source pump system dramatically enhancing the sustainability of the building and reducing running costs.”

Andrew Duckett from JLL Fund Advisory, who recommended a refurbishment of the building to the owners following a lease surrender with Npower added: “The refurbishment recognises the demand for offices which create a point of difference for companies as they look to retain and attract talent in Worcestershire’s fiercely competitive jobs market.

“The light, airy floorplates offer room for flexible, agile working and the opportunity for an occupier to stamp their mark on the building.”

JLL’s Building Consultancy team is carrying out the landlord’s refurbishment works, which will be completed before Christmas.

Harris Lamb is JLL’s joint agent.
