Hour-long delays on M6 as broken down lorry causes rush hour misery

The M6 northbound carriageway is experiencing severe delays of at least an hour above usual journey times between J6 to J8 due to a broken down lorry.

The lorry closed lanes 4, 3 and 2 to be closed, but has since been recovered and all lanes have reopened. The queue of congestion spans approximately five miles back to J6.

Hghways England said: “For traffic approaching the delays locally, you are advised to expect disruption with extra journey time and you may wish to re-route or delay your journey.

“If travelling towards this area from much farther afield, delay information will remain visible on our on-road variable message signs until delays have cleared.”
