Hotel launches after refurb and re-brand

The newly refurbished Mercure Birmingham West Hotel has been unveiled to the public.

Having previously operated under the Park Inn brand, the hotel is one of six across the UK to have been signed by Danish-based property group, Proark, and rebranded to Mercure.

The new Mercure Hotel will be managed by Accor.

The Mercure Birmingham West Hotel comprises 168 rooms and 17 meeting rooms and onsite leisure facilities including a gym and heated indoor pool and jacuzzi.

Michael Kuc, general manager for the new Mercure Birmingham West Hotel, said: “The launch of the new Mercure Birmingham West Hotel on Wednesday 11th December was a huge success, with both members of the public and local businesses providing positive feedback for the completely refurbished property.”

Michael Brag, chairman of Proark, added: “We have worked closely with Accor since signing this portfolio of hotels, including the new Mercure Birmingham West Hotel, and are extremely pleased with the result of the refurbishment. Each hotel has the Mercure service and features guests expect but they offer local touches too, which we are confident will be well received by business and leisure travellers alike.”

The Mercure Birmingham West Hotel is one of six new sites to be owned and refurbished by Proark and managed by Accor, with the other five hotels positioned across the UK including Bedford, Cardiff, Harlow, Telford and Nottingham.
