Overturned van blocks M6 in Staffs

The M6 in Staffordshire is currently closed northbound between junctions 14 (Stafford) and J15 (Stoke-On-Trent/Newcastle-Under-Lyme).

The closure is in place due to a van which has been involved in a collision coming to rest in an overturned position across the carriageway. Emergency services are on their way to the scene. Traffic Officers are in attendance and will be assisting with traffic management.

A Highways England statement said: “For traffic approaching the delays locally, you are advised to expect disruption with extra journey time and you may wish to re-route or delay your journey.

“The diversion route is signed by the hollow triangle. Exiting at J14 take the exit onto the A34 northbound. Continue along the A34 northbound until its junction with the A500 at Hanford. Take the exit to the A500 westbound and continue towards the M6 junction 15.

“If travelling towards this area from much farther afield, delay information will remain visible on our on-road variable message signs until delays have cleared.”
