104,000 sq ft unit sold to online retailer

An online retailer has snapped up a 104,000 sq ft warehouse in Stoke-on-Trent in a move which sees the company relocate from Birmingham.

The Fenton 104 warehouse and offices has been sold to online retailer Anything 4 Home, which is relocating from Birmingham to Oldfields Business Park.

Acting on behalf of specialist real estate investment and asset manager Catella APAM, property consultancy Knight Frank sold the modern detached warehouse with two storey offices in Birrell Street.

Anything 4 Home was established in 2007 and sells a range of products from beauty items to lighting, and from toys to stationery, from its online department store.

The deal to attract a Birmingham-based company to Stoke was supported by Make it Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Investment Service.

Cllr Brown, leader of Stoke-on-Trent City Council and cabinet member for corporate resources, strategy & partnerships said: “Stoke-on-Trent’s reputation is growing as the place to do business and attracting Anything4Home from Birmingham shows exactly that. It is great news for the city that Anything4Home will be bringing another 45 jobs to the city with its relocation.”

Edward Kennerley of Knight Frank’s industrial & logistics team in the Midlands, said: “We are delighted to have agreed the deal with Anything 4 Home, which had been looking for suitable freehold premises in Birmingham for more than two years.

“There is a lack of freehold second-hand industrial property opportunities across the Midlands and we are seeing a number of owner occupiers that are willing to move cities in order to secure the freehold premises they need to grow their business.”

The joint agent on the sale was Williams Sillitoe.
