Motivational speaking company invests £50,000 in virtual offer

James Howard

A motivational speaking company has invested over £50,000 into launching a new virtual offer for businesses keen to improve their safety, health and wellbeing cultures and has welcomed on board a Stafford-based crisis management specialist.

James Howard, who has over 30 years’ experience working in risk management and operational transformation, has been named as one of the main speakers for Proud2bSafe (P2BS) and is playing a key role in helping the firm’s transition towards online presentations to combat the impact of Covid-19.

The approach gives organisations the chance to maximise their training budget whilst also addressing social distancing restrictions.

Up to 2500 individuals can now access each virtual live story and there is an option for others to catch-up with ‘playback’ presentations.

It is an approach that is generating significant interest, with materials and equipment management specialist ASCO already signed up.

“I’m delighted to be part of PS2B’s new approach to motivational speaking and am looking forward to presenting to a global audience,” said Howard, who is in the process of setting up his own consultancy business.

“Working virtually with P2BS is a win-win for companies. They still get the same depth of insight and personal experience for a fraction of the cost and we can get the message across to far more people. Better still, we reduce our own and our client’s environmental impacts by replacing thousands of journeys to training venues with virtual learning.

“It also gives them the opportunity to maximise the return on their training investment at a time when there might be some pressure on budgets and can even strengthen cultural alignment by trickling down live interactive experiences and recordings to on-site supply chain partners.”

Proud2bSafe is run by father and daughter team Abbi Taylor and Jason Anker.

In addition to teaming up with James Howard, they will also be working with Matt Hazelton of Four Friends as part of the virtual offer.

“Our network of speakers has delivered presentations to thousands of companies all over the world since we began in 2011, including some major names such as Babcock, Bombardier, Network Rail and Xylem,” said Taylor, managing director of P2BS.

“We had a full pipeline of talks booked before Covid-19 struck and then, pretty much overnight, all were cancelled or postponed until further notice. Health, safety and wellbeing have never been more important for companies to consider, yet we had no way of delivering our insights unless we pivoted the business model.”

She continued: “Our existing clients were very positive when we trialled the idea of moving online so we’ve invested in the latest audio visual and IT technology to deliver high quality, interactive production content to enhance the audience experience.

“They also really liked the idea of being able to present to 2500 people per event, with the additional capability of giving 100 of those the chance to interact with the speakers. There’s even the opportunity to have the talks scheduled to suit daytime/nighttime shifts and different time zones.”
