Jobs to be created as domestic repairs company expands

A domestic repairs and cleaning company plans to create up to ten jobs after expanding into premises in Redditch.

Commercial property agent John Truslove helped UK Clean & Repair, which services, cleans and repairs ovens, fridges, washing machines and other white goods, move into 26 Colemeadow Road on North Moons Moat industrial estate.

The company was launched a year ago by director Alan Phillips and growing demand has resulted in the relocation from Solihull to larger premises.

Phillips said: “We started with one man and a van and the business has grown exponentially since. The corona virus really hit us hard just as the business was in full swing but thanks to government support and the support from Ben Truslove, we were able to overcome this and continue our expansion.

“We started with oven cleaning but what was a lively demand quickly saw us increasing our service offering both commercial and domestic professional cleaning and repairing of all white goods, from electric ovens to microwaves, and from dishwashers to washing machines and tumble dryers.

“Now that we’ve moved in, the ongoing growth of the company will ultimately lead to ten new jobs for our staff working in and around the area.”

The starter unit has been let to UK Clean & Repair for five years at a rent of £5,000 per year. The landlord’s solicitors were DWF Law in Liverpool.

Ben Truslove, joint managing director at Redditch-based John Truslove, said: “We’re always delighted to work with new companies that are expanding and looking for larger premises.

“It’s even more satisfying when that growth results in new jobs for the area, as is the case with UK Clean & Repair. It’s a great little company and we look forward to watching it continue its expansion.”
