Refurb of historic city building completes

Bruntwood Works has completed the £1.3m refurbishment of Birmingham’s historic Cornwall Buildings and welcomed project management and recruitment specialist TXM Projects as the latest tenant.

The project has transformed the interior of the grade II-listed building.

The works, which completed in August, include serviced offices, flexible workspaces such as break-out areas, hot desks and a business lounge for coworking.

TXM Projects, which is part of the global TXM Group, has taken a serviced office across two suites.

In addition to the workspaces available at Cornwall Buildings, TXM Projects will have access to the state-of-the-art gym facilities at Bruntwood Works’ neighbouring Cornerblock, as well as the bike storage and roof garden – Birmingham’s largest roof terrace.

Rob Valentine, director of Birmingham at Bruntwood Works said: “Cornwall Buildings is a historic and iconic building in the heart of Birmingham, so it was only right that the transformation did it justice. We’ve played heavily on the building’s heritage in the design to create a space that celebrates its original features while creating the vibe of a boutique hotel that means our customers have a comfortable and relaxing space to work from – one they feel at home in.

“The flexibility of the space and level of service we provide is also really important, particularly as our customers start returning to the office and bringing their teams back together, so we’ve ensured our spaces can be bespoke to each business in order for customers to adapt and grow with us. This flexibility and focus on service was key for TXM Projects and we’re really looking forward to welcoming them to Cornwall Buildings.”

Bryan Bennett, managing director of TXM Projects, added: “Cornwall Buildings is a fantastic space that really does feel more like a home or hotel than an office. With the serviced office we get the certainty of cost, but the added benefits of state-of-the-art communal facilities that our people can really benefit from.”

The refurbishment was designed by Birmingham-based Associated Architects.
