Care sector provider secures multimillion-pound funding deal

Antser, a Birmingham-based business support and transformation services provider to the social care, health and education sectors, has secured £4.15m in funding.

The company was formed by the merger of several social care businesses in 2018.

Its CEO Richard Dooner sought advice from business advisory firm FRP Advisory to help push ahead with its expansion plans.

The funding from alternative lender to mid-sized businesses ThinCats will primarily be used in the development of a new data insights solution for health and social care providers, “Antser Insight”.

The self-serve software solution will enable partners to understand local, regional and national trends or service issues on an actual and predictive basis.

The solution will support informed, proactive planning and delivery of vital services for vulnerable children, adults and families.

Dooner said: “We continue to innovate and to consider how solutions can be provided in a more accessible and practical way. Technology is playing an incredibly important role for all of us as we move forward in the current situation, and we are delighted that the ThinCats funding is enabling us to continue to develop our offering to the health and social care sector, especially at such a crucial time.”

Chris Webb of ThinCats added: “Antser is a business that provides a vital service to a hugely important sector, and we are proud to have been able to support Richard and his team with their growth plans. They are a prime example of the forward thinking, ambitious mid-sized SMEs that ThinCats specialises in funding.”

Fahim Kassam and Colin Strevens from FRP Advisory advised Antser on the transaction.

Kassam said: “Antser is a truly unique business, providing technology led, specialist products and services into the social care, health and education sectors.

“We are delighted to have advised on this transaction which will help Richard and the team accelerate into new sectors with the development of “Antser Insight”, a market-leading data insights solution that will help to create positive change for organisations operating in Antser’s existing and new markets.”
