Developer presses ahead with trio of industrial units at 32 acre site

St. Modwen Industrial & Logistics is continuing to add to its Midlands offering with a further three units, scaling more than 160,000 sq ft, at its site in Tamworth.

The erection of steelworks has now started on two 48,800 sq ft units – which can be combined to make 97,600 sq ft – and one 63,000 sq ft unit, all of which will be ready for occupation in May 2021.

St. Modwen’s latest builds form part of the third phase of development at the 32-acre site, which is also home to St. Modwen’s biggest ever speculative industrial and logistics unit, covering 321,000 sq ft.

With further development planned, the entire scheme is expected to create around 1,700 jobs once complete.

Rob Richardson, senior development manager at St. Modwen Industrial and Logistics, said: “It’s great to see our next phase of development taking shape in Tamworth. We’re increasing our offering of high-quality industrial and logistics space, countering the lack of supply of mid-sized units in the immediate area and providing a range of size options for businesses to choose from.”

Joint marketing agents for the new units are Savills and Colliers International.
