Gun Quarter student scheme gets green light

Plans to redevelop industrial buildings in the Gun Quarter area of Birmingham into student accommodation have been given the go-ahead by Birmingham City Council’s planning committee.

Volume Property will turn 41-45 Hanley Street into a 107 student bed scheme. The development will be housed in a seven-storey newbuild unit.

The plans also include a communal building, study rooms, gym, offices and cinema.

A courtyard will connect to 37 Hanley Street, another student scheme from Volume, which is currently under construction.
