Home Bargains has invested around £9m in its new store in Coventry, which will open its doors on Saturday, creating 127 jobs.

In total, the store at Cross Point Business Park will employ 140 people, including some staff and management who will be transferring from local stores.

The Coventry store will join over 500 outlets across the UK as the company continues to open around 50 stores a year.

The 42,141 sq ft store, which formally housed Toys ‘R’ Us, will offer shoppers a range of products, including homewares, health and beauty essentials, sweets, snacks and drinks, as well as fresh and frozen food.

Store manager Wajeeha Mohi-uddin said: “Cross Point Business Park will be a great location for us and we’re proud to be able to offer local people top-branded goods at exceptionally low prices.”
