Urban Splash gets green light for next phase of canalside residential scheme

How the new houses will look

Some 98 canalside homes are set to be built after planning permission was granted to Phase 3 of Urban Splash’s Port Loop development in Birmingham.

The city council’s planning committee gave the green light to the next part of the scheme late last week. The move will also see public and private green spaces developed and over 100 trees planted across the site.

The next phase of the scheme will see 29 two- and three- storey system built town houses erected alongside 69 two- and three-storey factory-built “row houses”.

A new area of the canal’s towpath will be opened up to the public as part of the plans.

Glenn Howells Architects are the masterplanners for Port Loop, with housing by ShedKm and GHA.
