Law firm swoops for trio from international counterpart

Law firm Flint Bishop has announced three new appointments to its insurance litigation fraud team at its Birmingham and Derby offices.

Anthony Carrington, Paul Large and Jonathan Cox have all joined from international law firm, DAC Beachcroft, increasing the total headcount for the insurance litigation team to 36.

Carrington joins Flint Bishop as partner and head of fraud. He has over 10 years of experience advising several of the UK’s largest general and motor insurers on counter fraud strategies and bespoke fraud strategies on large scale organised fraud.

His previous roles have included head of organised fraud, acting for over 13 different insurer clients, as well as managing a client team with over 40 lawyers and revenue in excess of £4m.

Large, who joins the firm as an associate, is an expert in counter fraud and in particular, fraud tactics in organised motor fraud. He has over 10 years of experience defending organised fraud motor claims and handling operations and fraud rings consisting of in excess of 100 claims.

He has personally handled and supervised numerous operations with varying levels of complexity and with involvement from third parties such as the Solicitors Regulation Authority, Insurance Fraud Bureau, Insurance Fraud Enforcement Department, local Police and MedCo.

Cox completes the trio of appointments and will join Flint Bishop as a specialist insurance litigation solicitor with particular focus within the counter fraud arena. Acting on behalf of insurers based within the UK and across the EU, his expertise is in defending motor and casualty fraud matters.

He has acted on a cross-spectrum of fraudulent actions ranging from suspected exaggeration to complex multi-claimant fraud rings and has achieved significant savings using technical arguments, and findings of Fundamental Dishonesty following the deployment of bespoke fraud based strategies.
