Housebuilder to bring 79 homes to Staffs village

Housebuilder Countryside has launched its latest development of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes in the South Staffordshire village of Featherstone.
Located on the site of Brinsford Lodge, Harvest Grove will include 79 houses, including 24 affordable homes with registered provider, Wrekin Housing Group. Planning permission was granted by South Staffordshire Council in March.
As part of its Section 106 agreement, Countryside has made a pledge to contribute to the local area, including the provision of a football pitch, changing rooms and car parking. Countryside will also invest in a new local play area at the development, contributing £125,000 towards its maintenance with a further £7,000 travel plan contribution.
Adam Daniels, managing director, partnerships West Midlands, Countryside, said: “We are delighted to commence work at Harvest Grove, which will be ideal for first time buyers and home movers alike. Featherstone is a great place for families to settle and by offering home ownership initiatives such as the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme, we are fulfilling our commitment to making it more affordable for first time buyers to get onto the property ladder. We are looking forward to investing in the area through the building of our homes and playing our part in the growth of the local community.”
Simon Thompson, director of development at The Wrekin Housing Group said: “Ensuring people have access to good quality, affordable homes is one of our key aims at Wrekin and it’s great to see this development underway in South Staffordshire. We look forward to making a positive impact on the community in Featherstone and seeing these homes take shape.”
