Living Space submits plans for 60 homes in Bromsgrove

Living Space Housing has submitted a planning to Bromsgrove District Council for 60 homes on a 1.73 Ha (4.27 acre) site off Perryfields Road.
The site forms part of an allocation for over 1,300 new homes.
Living Space has lodged the plans in conjunction with Worcester-based PDR Developments. Designed by the Birmingham office of architects Stephen George and Partners, the proposals are for a mix of one-, two-, three and four-bedroom homes.
Chris Loizou, land and partnerships director at Living Space Housing said: “There is a substantial unmet housing need within Bromsgrove and the surrounding area, with many people who work in the District commuting in. Bromsgrove’s Strategic Housing Market Assessment requires substantial new home delivery – including 219 new affordable homes per year – so highly sustainable schemes such as this are required. Our proposals are for a quality bespoke development, which will contribute to and enhance the architectural character of the Borough.”
Philip Rawle, director of PDR Developments said: “Prior to submitting our planning application, we undertook public consultation across nearly 400 homes in the local area. It was interesting to see that there was an awareness of the lack of mixed tenure housing. This scheme is vital to enable Bromsgrove District Council to increase the provision of quality new homes across a range of tenures, including socially rented and shared ownership. We look forward to working with the Council’s Officers and Elected Members as the scheme progresses through the planning system.”
