Combined authority’s director of strategy to leave post

Julia Goldsworthy, the director of strategy for the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA), has announced she is leaving the role.
Goldsworthy left her role as senior adviser with professional services firm PwC to take up the post in 2017.
She was previously a special adviser at HM Treasury during the coalition government, where she focused on public spending and public service reform.
Goldsworthy said: “After nearly four years supporting WMCA through its formative milestones, it’s (time) to move on.
“A new mayoral term is a good time for a new chapter of my own, and I’m excited to be planning the next plot twist in my (very non-linear) career story.”
The news follows the announcement in March that WMCA’s chief executive Deborah Cadman was taking on the same role at Birmingham City Council on an interim basis, as the search continues for a permanent candidate.
It was later announced that Laura Shoaf would take the position as interim chief executive of WMCA.
The managing director of Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) officially assumed the role in June.
