Grade II-listed town house earmarked for redevelopment

A former Georgian town house in Kidderminster could be set for major redevelopment by a new owner after it comes up at Bond Wolfe’s next auction.

The Grade II-listed building was converted for use as offices in recent decades but is lined up for a return to its original residential use, as it is being sold with existing planning permission for conversion into 12 apartments.

The three-storey property at 27 Church Street is listed with a guide price of £275,000 plus.

Ian Tudor, joint managing director auctions at Bond Wolfe, said: “This property represents an excellent investment and development opportunity in a historic area of Kidderminster town centre.

“This is an attractive Grade II-listed building with planning permission to develop 12 one-bedroom apartments in the town centre, with a guide price that offers remarkable value for an opportunity of this kind.

“We are predicting highly competitive bidding when this lot comes under the hammer.”

Built in the mid-18th century and used as a home by a succession of prosperous families, the building was converted to offices in the middle of the last century.

The Kidderminster property is one of 188 lots that will be appearing at the Bond Wolfe auction from 9am on Wednesday 20 October.
