Private client partner returns to Shakespeare Martineau

Law firm Shakespeare Martineau has welcomed new partner Iwan Williams into its private client team.

Williams has 11 years qualified experience and is returning from Charles Russell Speechly, where he spent more than seven years in private wealth, acting for high and ultra-high net worth clients.

Previously, Williams was a solicitor for four years at Shakespeare Martineau in Leicester. He will be based at the firm’s Stratford-upon-Avon base, but will be working with clients nationally.

He joins the team which specialises in tax and succession, and will be working alongside the firm’s agricultural team to provide estate planning advice to a range of clients.

Shakespeare Martineau says Williams has particular expertise in advising landed estate owners, high net worth individuals and business-owning families.

Williams said: “I feel privileged to be joining a fantastic private client team and I am looking forward to helping to strengthen our private client offering as part of the firm’s wider strategy.”

“A deep understanding of an estate and a family’s overall aims and wishes is absolutely vital to delivering outstanding client service. I look forward to working in tandem with our expert agriculture team to further strengthen our expertise in this area.”

Williams’ appointment is the latest of new partner hires for Shakespeare Martineau.

Suzanne Leggott, partner and head of Shakespeare Martineau’s private client team, said: “We are delighted to welcome Iwan back to the firm; his technical knowledge and experience will be a real asset to our team as we look to grow our private client offering and cement our reputation in agricultural law.”
