Property development company AC Lloyd has made a senior appointment to continue its growth plans.

Glen Langham has joined AC Lloyd, which has its headquarters at Tachbrook Park in Warwick, as planning and development director.

He was previously senior planning and development director at Bloor Homes. He also spent seven years at Warwick-based L&Q Estates (formerly Gallagher Estates) where he was group planning director.

He said: “AC Lloyd is a well-respected privately-owned business with a fantastic reputation for building high-quality homes, commercial developments and new communities.

“The company has predominantly focused its activities in Warwickshire and the wider West Midlands, but the success of commercial developments such as the £30m mixed-use Teal Park scheme in Nottingham emphasises the company’s capability and appetite to get involved in developments further afield.

“I’m looking forward to working with the entire team along with our various partners, advisors, and the communities where we are active as we look to continue delivering the new homes, business space and infrastructure that is needed.”

Peter Beddoes, chairman of AC Lloyd, said: “We are delighted to welcome Glen to AC Lloyd. Glen’s experience will add to our management team’s expertise in delivering highly successful developments and securing new development opportunities so we can continue to build upon our proud history and expand the business in to the future.”

One of the UK’s leading figures in vocational and technical learning has been appointed as managing director of the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre.

David Grailey has more than 30 years’ experience in the UK education and skills sector. He will take on the role of leading the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre (AMTC) – based on the Manufacturing Technology Centre campus in Coventry – as it continues to fortify the UK’s manufacturing sector with the next generation of engineers and technicians.

For the last 20 years Grailey has led two commercially successful qualification businesses. For the last 13 years he was chief executive of NCFE, one of the UK’s largest awarding bodies for vocational, technical and academic qualifications.

While at Newcastle upon Tyne-based NCFE he and his team grew the number of student registrations from 75,000 to more than 616,000. The business was listed in The Times Top 100 Companies to Work For nine times, while significantly increasing profits and turnover. He led the significant investment into setting up an apprenticeship End Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO) which delivered more than 7,500 assessments in its first full year in operation.

Before this, Grailey was chief executive of Food & Drink Qualifications, the qualifications organisation for the food and drink manufacturing sector. Previously he held a number of education and skills appointments, including at University College Salford.

He said: “I am delighted to be joining the AMTC team and the wider MTC team. I’m looking forward to working with my colleagues to build on their success and reputation and find new and innovative ways of reaching greater heights. Leading and growing an important educational business such as the AMTC is a great opportunity to help more apprentices and existing manufacturers achieve higher skill levels, equipping them to be trailblazing for UK manufacturing and impacting on our global competitiveness.”

Property developer Stoford has strengthened its development team with the appointment of a new development manager.

Henry Bradshaw has joined the Birmingham-based business, with responsibility for supporting the delivery of its extensive portfolio of new and existing office and logistics/warehouse schemes.

Stoford’s first graduate appointment, Bradshaw joins the firm from the University of Reading, where he recently completed an MSc in Real Estate. He had previously enjoyed a one month internship with Stoford in the summer of 2021.

He will work closely with colleagues in Stoford’s development team on the delivery of projects including Redditch Gateway, a £200m build-to-suit logistics and manufacturing scheme on a 78-acre site near Junction 3 of the M42.

He said: “I’m incredibly proud to have joined Stoford as its first graduate hire. The business has such a strong reputation for delivering industry leading schemes across a broad range of sectors. Being part of its experienced development team will give me the opportunity to learn more about the entire development cycle and play an active role in supporting several multi million pound pre-let and speculative projects.”

Dan Gallagher, joint managing director of Stoford, said: “We are keen to nurture talented young professionals in the property and construction sector and Henry’s placement last year proved that he has a considerable amount to offer. His arrival comes at a time of exciting growth and expansion for our business and will enhance our existing team as we manage the progression of a significant development pipeline of strategic sites across England.”
