£20m scheme plans to deliver 40 zero-carbon luxury homes

A reserved matters planning application has been submitted to Cherwell District Council for 40 zero-carbon homes by Solihull-based Hayfield.

The 10-acre site in the Oxfordshire village of Adderbury will be the location of the £20m Hayfield Manor development.

The scheme, designed by Pegasus Group, features large public open space, sustainable water drainage and biodiversity enhancements.

It also proposes a range of maisonettes, bungalows, and three, four and five-bedroom luxury houses.

The development will be fossil-fuel-free, with each home to be installed with an air source heat pump, energy-efficient underfloor heating, fibre-optic broadband, and an EV charging point.

Andy Morris, the managing director of Hayfield said: “Our designs for this special scheme reflect the architectural significance of the traditional houses that line Berry Hill Road, which our zero-carbon ready homes will complement beautifully.

“We propose constructing the mixture of 40 single storey and two storey homes in redbrick and complementing stone, to ensure this new development effortlessly blends into its surroundings.”

All 40 homes will be tenure blind and the room dimensions across the variety of 10 house designs will greatly exceed those typically seen in the market says Hayfield. All homes will have designated parking, with many benefiting from garages. Visitor parking spaces will also be available.

Hayfield is currently on-site delivering over 400 homes at nine developments across Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Wiltshire and Worcestershire. The five-year-old company is on track to increase turnover to £150m this year.
