The business conducted a retender of its property legal panel to align legal services with the organisation’s new strategy announced in October 2020, with a particular to focus on mixed-use urban neighbourhoods – the newest element to Landsec’s portfolio alongside central London offices and major retail destinations.

Partner Reena Patel will be leading the Gowling WLG team with client relationship support from partner Felicity Lindsay and senior key account manager Fay Meakin. The wider project team includes partners Nick Mumby, Khalil Ahmed, Richard Beckingsale, Clive Chalkley, Vicky Fowler, Sharon Ayres, Lee Nuttall, Jacqueline Knox and Ben Stansfield, as well as a cross sector team of 27 associates.

Patel said: “I am absolutely thrilled with our appointment to the Landsec legal panel, which reflects and cements our position as industry leaders in real estate. Our breadth and depth of expertise across all asset classes, coupled with the significant resource of our 400 strong market leading real estate sector team, leaves us well placed to support Landsec to deliver its exciting new strategy.

“The Gowling WLG team is very much looking forward to working with Landsec and continuing to grow its strong relationships with the former U+I team for many years to come.”

Alex Peeke, head of legal at Landsec, said: “Our review has enabled us to tap into some of the additional capability that our panel needs to support new focus areas for the business, such as mixed-use urban neighbourhoods.  We are delighted to welcome Gowling WLG to the panel and look forward to working with them. I am very confident that we have the capacity, capability and enthusiasm in our panel to help us deliver our strategy over the next five years.”
