Retail technology provider lands contracts with major shopping centre and retail park brands

Birmingham retail and social media technology specialists Maybe* has announced new contracts with NewRiver, which owns 28 shopping centres and 15 retail parks around the UK and the South West’s premium designer outlet and lifestyle destination, Gloucester Quays.

Real estate investment trust NewRiver has renewed its contract with Brunswick Square-based Maybe* for a third consecutive year while Gloucester Quays is a new addition to the Shropshire company’s growing roster in the shopping centre sector.

NewRiver, whose portfolio includes the Priory Meadow Shopping Centre in Hastings and The Avenue Shopping Centre in Newton Mearns near Glasgow, uses the Maybe* platform to gain a detailed understanding of and to report on social media performance across its extensive portfolio of retail sites, measuring the impact of their collective efforts on footfall and sales.

The company provides all of its centres with access to the Maybe* platform, a suite of social media scheduling, engagement and listening tools, all supported by a full-service provision of social media training and expert support for all of its centre teams.

Erin Thorne, customer experience manager at NewRiver, says: “The Maybe* Social Media Management Platform enables NewRiver Centres to get more from social media. We use it across our centres to schedule content and engage with local conversations. What makes Maybe* special? They provide NewRiver with the data and training that allows our individual centre teams to understand and constantly improve the impact of our social media on our centres and the communities they support.”

Lauren Hopkins, marketing business partner at Gloucester Quays, says: “The Maybe* Social Media Management Platform enables Gloucester Quays to use a full suite of social media management tools and metrics to benchmark and measure centre performance against any 500+ UK shopping centres as well as the social media performance of our extensive range of retailers, F&B and leisure destinations.

“The Maybe* Loyalty module will enable us to engage with our visitors and customers when they spend in the centre and attribute directly back to our social media activity. The Loyalty programme will enable Gloucester Quays to increase sales and measure which promotions work by rewarding consumer’s local spend through their existing Visa, Mastercard and Amex.”

Polly Barnfield, CEO of Maybe*, said: “We are delighted to be continuing with NewRiver and forming a new relationship with Gloucester Quays, providing both businesses with the tools to support them and their teams in managing and developing resilient retail assets across the UK.

“Both companies provide essential goods and services that support local communities and one of our key focuses as a business is to provide stakeholders across the UK’s high streets with the tools to support local economic prosperity.

“Our work with NewRiver and Gloucester Quays are great examples of how we work together to do that.”
