Plans lodged in Coventry for £6m industrial park scheme

Plans to create a £6m multi-let industrial park in Coventry have been submitted to the council.

Midlands-based development and construction firm The Wigley Group aim to create the park with 24 units, ranging in size from 1,000 to 3,000 sq ft.

The facility, to be named Albion Enterprise Park, will be located on Endermere Road, at the back of the Albion Industrial Estate, which is also partly owned by The Wigley Group and fully tenanted.

It would feature sustainable and modern industrial units with office and storage space for small businesses.

Mike Vining, land and development director at The Wigley Group, which is based in Stockton in Warwickshire, said: “Coventry is a city which has historically been rich in industry, and it is the place to be for businesses given its connectivity to key transport corridors and motorway networks.

“There is an acute demand for industrial space and – in a location like this – we expect there to be huge interest, both for re-sale and opportunities to let.”

The 1.88-acre site used to house pre-war industrial units, however these were in a poor condition and subsequently demolished, with the site now prime for redevelopment.

New plans would include a total of 72 car parking spaces which would be split equally between all 24 units.
