Birmingham firm set to develop $100m R&D hub

Trebor Developments has been named as the developer of a $100m major research and development and manufacturing office facility in Newport, South Wales.
The Birmingham firm has exchanged a development agreement with KLA Corporation to create its 210,000 state-of-the-art innovation centre with facilities for up to 750 staff.
Trebor have appointed Andrew Scott Ltd as the main contractor, and work on site commenced at the start of January 2023. Completion is expected in early 2025 followed by a specialist technical manufacturing fit out.
The facility will be designed to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating and will provide more than 25,000 sq ft of cleanrooms for R&D and more than 35,000 sq ft of bespoke manufacturing assembly halls.
It will be set across three floors, containing modern working spaces, flexible breakout areas and a staff restaurant. The new building will also include a gym and secure cycle storage and shower facilities.
