Moda Living unveils plans for 1,600-home ‘urban community’
Developer Moda Living has revealed plans to develop an 11-acre ‘urban community’ in Edgbaston.
New Garden Square will comprise 1,600 homes as well as £6m worth of public realm as part of its ‘Moda Masterplan’.
As it topped out the first phase of the scheme, where Moda is currently delivering 392 build-to-rent homes alongside landowner Calthorpe Estate, it revealed its Masterplan to create a one-acre central park, along with the new homes, retail, cafes, restaurants, leisure space and workspace.
With final designs to be confirmed and submitted for planning, the masterplan’s 1,600 new homes will span a range of tenures and price points as it aims to build a multi-generational, diverse community.
Homes will also available onsite at Discounted Market Rent as part of New Garden Square’s inclusive residential offering.
Moda Living has so far committed more than £600m to developments in the city, with Moda, The Mercian, New Garden Square Phase I and Great Charles Street.

Moda Living will now take plans for the site forwards, with initial plans expected to be submitted to Birmingham City Council before the end of this year.
