Logistics firm edges towards administration

A Burton logistics firm has edged towards administration, TheBusinessDesk.com understands.

Freight Management European, which trades as AMCO Logistics and was set up in 1998, has posted a second notice of intention (NOI) to appoint administrators through law firm Higgs.

According to its website, AMCO began its life supplying the F1 and automotive industry with just-in-time deliveries.

Now, the company’s fleet includes vehicles including small express vans, tail lifts vehicles and larger lorries.

The firm also has a warehouse in Derby. In January 2021, AMCO announced the opening of a new 17,000 sq ft warehouse in Marchington, Staffordshire.

In its latest available accounts, made up to the end of 2021, the firm employed 37 people.
